My Latest Snag: My NYE Outfit.

I have been eyeing a pair of these Sleeper feather-trim pajamas for several years but finally bought myself a pair in black, with the intention of styling the pieces a few different ways over the next two weeks. I’ll be wearing the top tucked into these jeans and finished with a pair of pearl-embellished Miu Miu platforms out to drinks with my girlfriends this weekend, and will then wear the entire ensemble for a Kacey Musgraves Christmas Cocktail party we’re hosting this upcoming week (I encouraged festive, spacey Kacey-inspired attire) as well as on NYE, and possibly also Christmas morning? These jammies have legs!

You can get the look for less with this Amazon set!

P.S. More feather finds here.

Weekend Musings: Those Winter Sundays.

This morning, a quietly sobering reminder in the shape of a poem to be grateful for what I have while I have it. Acknowledgment — seeing people for their ministrations, their sacrifices, their unflashy gestures of care — goes so far. I already regret not telling certain people how much I have appreciated them while the time was right. In some cases, those people are now deceased. In others, I have let too much territory pass between us. Writing that out, I think: it’s never too late. If you have a minute this morning, listen to this poem read by the poet himself. It cinches.

Those Winter Sundays

by Robert Hayden

Sundays too my father got up early

and put his clothes on in the blueblack cold,

then with cracked hands that ached

from labor in the weekday weather made

banked fires blaze. No one ever thanked him.

I’d wake and hear the cold splintering, breaking.

When the rooms were warm, he’d call,

and slowly I would rise and dress,

fearing the chronic angers of that house,

Speaking indifferently to him,

who had driven out the cold

and polished my good shoes as well.

What did I know, what did I know

of love’s austere and lonely offices?

Shopping Break.

+Oh my gosh, this Zara dress is EPIC. I’m a little concerned about length but if you pair with opaque tights…! Zara is crushing it this season. More great finds here.

+Talbots is offering 50% off sitewide, including their CASHMERE. I am obsessing over this sweater and these joggers.

+Cute sherpa tote (under $40).

+Everything you need to organize your pantry in the New Year.

+LOVE the texture and shape of this sweater (and comes in four great colors!) to pair with high-waisted denim.

+I own this dress in a different pattern and it is just SO pretty. The red is interesting because I feel like it could work in basically any season — winter, fall, summer…

+A great striped basic.

+These shoes from new-to-me label Nomasei are fabulous.

+These lucite storage cubes are a great solution for makeup and medicine cabinets — I use two side by side for all of our medicine/first aid gear and keep it in the linen closet in our primary bathroom.

+Chic charging pad you won’t mind keeping out.

+Prettiest cardigan for a little lady.

+Ordered these glitter mary janes for mini.

+I shared these last week, but these Splits59 legging/joggers are on sale for $59. The silhouette is chic!

+This hooded tartan coat is adorable.

+This Cesta Collective sequined pail bag is TOO GOOD. I own one of these bags (this one) and absolutely treasure it — their entire holiday collection is epic. (This simple one with the velvet bow!)

+Here for the party.

+Utility-chic apron.
